These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the websites, apps, NFC/QR tags and related services offered by PawTap Limited ("PawTap", "we", "us", "our").

2) Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account, ordering a tag, installing our app, or using any PawTap service, you agree to these Terms and to any policies referenced here (e.g., our Privacy & Cookie Policy). If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
3) Additional terms
Some features may have extra terms (e.g., promotions, pilot features). If those conflict with these Terms, the additional terms will control for that feature.
4) Privacy & cookies
Our Privacy & Cookie Policy explains what personal data we collect and how we use it (including Stripe payments, AWS SES email, FCM push, S3/Spaces media storage, Google Places/Maps & Mapbox, optional analytics/diagnostics). By using the Services, you acknowledge that processing. Manage non-essential cookies via our banner or your browser settings.
5) Eligibility
You must: (a) be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live); (b) have capacity to enter a contract; and (c) use the Services only in compliance with law. You represent that you meet these requirements.
6) Your account & security
Accuracy. Provide accurate, current information and keep it updated.
Credentials. You’re responsible for all activity on your account. Keep logins secure (our platform supports secure flows such as passwordless/OTP, CSRF protection and token rotation).
Notice. Tell us promptly about suspected unauthorised access: [email protected].
Our rights. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach, fraud, abuse or security risk.
7) PawTap tags & lost-pet workflows
Our NFC/QR tags link to a cloud profile to help reunite pets with owners.
- Ordering & shipping. Tags may be free or paid; you pay shipping/handling shown at checkout. Ensure your address is correct—delivery issues arising from incorrect addresses aren’t our responsibility.
- Activation. Activate and link your tag to your account to enable scan pages, alerts and other features.
- Visibility settings. You control which fields (e.g., contact numbers, vet details) display to finders when the tag is scanned. You can change these settings at any time.
- Finder submissions. A finder may share their name, message, phone and (if permitted) location to contact you. We pass that to you for recovery purposes.
- No guarantee. We can’t guarantee pet recovery, notification delivery, third-party network availability, or the accuracy of any location provided by a finder’s device or mapping services.
- Care & use. You’re responsible for securely attaching the tag and keeping your pet’s profile accurate.
8) Subscriptions, plans & pricing
Some features require a paid subscription.
- Plans & changes. Plan inclusions and prices are shown on our website/app. We may update pricing or inclusions; we’ll notify you in advance where required.
- Currency & taxes. We typically bill in your local currency (as shown at checkout). Your bank may add FX/fees. Prices may include or add taxes depending on your location.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing cycle until you cancel in your account.
- Failed payments. If a renewal fails, we may retry charges and/or limit premium features until payment succeeds.
- Cancellation. Cancel anytime from your account. Access continues until the end of the paid period. Unless stated otherwise below, we don’t provide prorated refunds for partial periods.
- Refunds / trials. If we advertise a trial or a first-cycle “cool-off” refund window, the rules shown at sign-up apply (e.g., monthly: refundable if cancelled within 14 days of first purchase; annual: within 30 days of first purchase). After that window, renewals are non-refundable except where required by law. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
9) Payments
We use Stripe to process payments and subscriptions. By paying, you authorise Stripe (on our behalf) to charge your chosen method for the amounts shown (including recurring charges). You confirm you’re authorised to use that method and that funds are available. We don’t store full card numbers; Stripe handles card data.
10) App stores
If you obtain our mobile app through Apple App Store or Google Play:
- These Terms are between you and PawTap (not Apple/Google).
- Apple/Google aren’t responsible for support or warranties for the app.
- You must comply with the applicable store rules.
- The store provider is a third-party beneficiary of this section.
11) Acceptable use (what you can’t do)
You agree not to:
- Impersonate others or submit false/misleading pet profiles or lost-pet alerts.
- Harass users or misuse finder contact channels.
- Scrape, harvest or attempt unauthorised access to accounts or data.
- Upload malware or interfere with security or operations.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or otherwise attempt to extract source code not plainly provided to you (except where restricted by law).
- Use the Services for unlawful activity or in breach of third-party rights (including privacy and IP).
- Overwhelm or abuse notification/alert features or rate limits.
We may investigate suspected violations and take action, including removal of content, throttling, suspension or termination.
12) User content & licences
You may upload pet photos, profile details, messages and other content ("User Content").
Your rights. You retain ownership of your User Content.
Licence to us. You grant PawTap a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, use, reproduce, adapt, display and transmit User Content solely to operate and improve the Services (e.g., generating signed URLs, resizing images, sending notifications).
Responsibility. You’re responsible for the accuracy and legality of your User Content and for having the necessary permissions.
Safety. We may remove or disable content that we reasonably believe breaches these Terms or the law.
13) Intellectual property
The Services (including software, designs, logos, text, UI, and compiled databases) are owned by PawTap or our licensors and protected by IP laws. Except as expressly permitted, you must not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Services or use our trademarks without prior written consent.
14) Third-party services & links
We integrate third-party services essential to the platform (e.g., Stripe payments; AWS SES email; Firebase Cloud Messaging; S3/Spaces media; Google Places/Maps and Mapbox). Those providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Links to other websites/apps are provided for convenience; we don’t control and aren’t responsible for their content or policies.
15) Service availability & changes
We aim to keep the Services reliable, but uptime is not guaranteed. Features may change, be added or removed. We may suspend or limit parts of the Services for maintenance, security or legal reasons.
16) Disclaimers
THE SERVICES (INCLUDING TAG WORKFLOWS, MAP/LOCATION FEATURES, ALERTS, AND ANY COMMUNICATION CHANNELS) ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
- Recovery of a lost pet;
- Delivery or timing of notifications;
- Continuous, error-free operation;
- Accuracy of location data from maps or finder devices.
17) Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
PawTap won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, goodwill, pets, or reputation.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Services is limited to the greater of: (i) the amount you paid to PawTap for the Services in the 12 months before the claim; or (ii) £100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be limited under law (e.g., fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence).
18) Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PawTap, our directors, employees and service providers from claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your breach of these Terms; (b) your unlawful use of the Services; or (c) your User Content.
19) Suspension & termination
You may stop using the Services at any time (and cancel any subscription in your account). We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if we reasonably believe you breached these Terms, created risk or possible legal exposure, or where required by law. Sections that by nature should survive termination (e.g., IP, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, governing law) do survive.
20) Complaints & consumer rights
If you’re a consumer in the UK, you may have statutory rights that cannot be excluded. Nothing in these Terms affects those rights. If you have a complaint, contact [email protected] and we’ll do our best to resolve it.
21) Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes (if you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts).
22) Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in law or our Services. If changes materially affect your rights, we’ll provide reasonable advance notice (e.g., in-app, on-site, or by email). The “Last updated” date shows when the latest version took effect. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
23) General
Entire agreement. These Terms (plus referenced policies) are the entire agreement between you and PawTap regarding the Services.
Severability. If any part is invalid, the rest remains in effect.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision isn’t a waiver.
Assignment. You may not transfer your rights or obligations without our written consent; we may assign these Terms (e.g., in a reorganisation or sale).
Force majeure. We aren’t liable for delays/failures due to events beyond our reasonable control (e.g., outages, natural disasters, regulatory action).
Electronic communications. You agree we may notify you electronically (email, in-app).
